Laser Genesis

What is Laser Genesis?

Laser Genesis is a near-infrared (NIR) Nd: YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm. Studies have proven that NIR irradiation is efficient for skin rejuvenation due to its ability to provide long-lasting stimulation of elastin. It will also increase the amount of collagen, resulting in clinically improved skin tone and texture.

As the name implies, elastin is a highly elastic protein found within the connective tissue layer underneath the skin surface. This protein helps the skin resume its shape after stretching or contracting. Along with elastin, you'll find collagen in the connective tissue as well. Collagen is a structural protein that gives skin its strength and firmness. Over time, collagen and elastin are degraded, which represents one of the main mechanisms contributing to signs of aging. Therefore, Laser Genesis can minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

Additionally, the thermal energy of Laser Genesis targets the tiny vessels and capillaries that are the cause of persistent skin redness, such as with conditions like rosacea. By breaking down these vessels, blood that is trapped under the surface of the skin dissipates, which reduces overall redness.

Benefits of Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis is a non-invasive treatment that typically only takes about 30 to 45 minutes. There is no need for anesthesia because it is a painless procedure that only causes a gentle warming sensation. Also, this laser does not require downtime. Thus, the Laser Genesis treatment is ideal for busy patients who want to see results but do not have the time to take off for recovery. Lastly, Laser Genesis is designed for safe and effective treatment on all skin types and ethnicities and can be safely used on all body parts (excluding the eye and surrounding area).

It's typically recommended to receive between 3 to 6 Laser Genesis treatments, spaced about four weeks apart. Skin & Sculpt Med Spa will be able to design a custom treatment plan for you based on your unique needs.

What is LimeLight?

Cutera® LimeLight is an intense pulse light treatment, also known as IPL photo facial or photo-rejuvenation. Limelight is a unique technology we use at Skin and Sculpt Medical Spa to treat benign pigmented and vascular lesions to improve the healthy appearance of the skin.

This procedure offers the advantage of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging, photodamage, and rosacea. Due to its customizable platform, your provider can tailor your treatment specifically for brown spots, redness, or both in Fitzpatrick types I-IV.

LimeLight is ideal for any part of your body with skin redness, telangiectasias (tiny veins), or brown spots, and results can be seen in as little as one to three treatments.

What is ProWave™ LX?

The ProWave™ laser hair removal treats Fitzpatrick types I-IV, and due to the large spot size and fast repetition rate, large areas like legs and backs can be quickly and effectively treated in at least 6 to 8 treatments.

The ProWave contains two groundbreaking innovations. First, due to the custom design, the ProWave emits mostly infrared light above 770 nm - wavelengths recognized as the most versatile for hair removal. The second innovation is the output spectrum that can be customized to optimize treatment for each patient.

Three distinct programs tailor the wavelength and pulse width to optimize performance and efficacy for each patient. The ProWave LX overcomes the limits of other IPL technology for hair removal. Lighter and finer hair removal is more easily possible with better targeting capabilities. The ProWave LX provides a fast, comfortable hair removal treatment that can be used on small and large areas.

FAQs

Tap a question to expand.

Is the XEO Laser Treatment Painful?
XEO laser treatments are generally well-tolerated. Most patients report only mild discomfort during the procedure. The sensation is often described as a slight warming or tingling on the skin—similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. To further decrease discomfort, some treatments also use cooling technology or numbing cream. As a bonus, most people can resume normal activities immediately following the procedure with little to no downtime.
Who Is an Ideal Candidate for Cutera LimeLight Treatments?
Cutera LimeLight is ideal for individuals seeking to address pigmentation issues such as sun damage, age spots, and redness. It works best for those with lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick skin types I-III). However, our team can also tailor the service to specific concerns. The treatment is especially beneficial for people looking to improve their skin tone and achieve a more even complexion without invasive procedures. A consultation with a specialist – like those at Skin & Sculpt Medical Spa – will help determine if this treatment is right for you.
How Long Do ProWave Laser Hair Removal Results Last?
ProWave laser hair removal provides long-lasting results. Many patients experience a significant reduction in hair growth after just a few sessions. Patients often achieve permanent hair reduction, and fewer hairs grow back over time. Some may need occasional maintenance treatments, depending on factors like hormonal changes or hair type. Generally, though, ProWave offers a durable solution to unwanted hair.
Is Aerolase LightPod Neo Suitable for Patients With Sensitive Skin?
Yes, Aerolase LightPod Neo is designed to be gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin. Its unique 650-microsecond technology reduces discomfort and the risk of irritation or damage to the skin. This makes it an excellent option for patients with conditions such as rosacea or acne who may have avoided laser treatments in the past due to sensitivity concerns.
